Antonia Lofaso

Antonia's food provides a way to get inside her world. Her interest in food and cooking after moving from suburbs of Long Island to the diverse cultural landscape in Los Angeles. Her belief of the fact that cavatelli and carnitas can co-exist seamlessly on the same menu portrays a style that is constantly evolving. What remains, however, in all of her dishes is a singular vision towards the future, while also reminiscing about the past. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant founded by Lofaso in 2013. She opened it because of her Italian-American background. Lofaso's interpretation of traditional Italian is widely praised as one of the best eateries for Italian cooking within Los Angeles. Patrons have described Scopa as an essential neighbourhood staple, where Lofaso always offers food that is genuine and incredibly satisfying. Lofaso worked as an apprentice to culinary masters, absorbing their techniques and taking risks. She did not hesitate to do so to follow her own intuition. After a brief period she rose to the top in Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Then she collaborated with a variety of famous people as she transformed various Los Angeles restaurants. In the year 2011, Lofaso joined forces with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to launch Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. Lofaso has found her home within Black Market, and through the partnerships that she created. Lofaso could finally enjoy the freedom of expression she had wanted. Black Market has no one plan in sight and that's the way it goes. It could start with dill potatoes chips as well as shishito chillies, then proceed to an Korean food item called meatballs, and wings. What binds this diverse assortment of flavours is Antonia. Lofaso evaluates her achievements over the course of her career based on the innate ability she has to know her audience and be authentic to who she is. In addition to her memorable performance of Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars, her uniqueness was also celebrated outside of the kitchen. Today she remains a standout on screen, as an CNBC judge, and as a recurring character in the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso teamed up together with Penguin in 2012 to publish The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Delicious homemade Meals. This book also describes the obstacles she faced while studying at her first French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso says that the passion that drives her success comes from the heart of cooking and it's through this vein that she continues to have a firm finger on the pulse. Chefletics revolutionizes the look of cookwear by focusing on design and function. Her main focus is staying committed to her goals. To achieve this goal, she launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. This gives customers the most personal service.
