Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12 1988, is a Canadian performer and actress. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to be a winner of. O'Neil is best known as an actress for her performances in the series Syfy as Two as Two Rebeccaand Portia Lin, and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie. She was chosen to be as a bottom three contestant and two of the finals. The judges encouraged viewers to vote for contestants like Melissa, who clearly had the most impressive vocal skills. O'Neil was recognized for her efforts and she never dropped back to the third place. Zack Werner declared that O'Neil was "a threat" to win the entire thing. The 7th of September, 2005 O'Neil made it to the final two of the show, competing alongside Goudie. After some more impressive performances she was praised by judge Werner famously declared that the headlines of the next day's newspaper would read "The King [Kalan Porter] has died Long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand finale results shows on September 14, 2005 . He went on to win the title of the third Canadian Idol.
