
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25 in 1994) is a retired American artistic gymnast, and a two-time Olympian. She was captain of both the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. She was awarded a gold team medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabby Douglas and Raisman are the only Americans to have back-to-back gold medals in this competition. Raisman also earned silver in the individual all-around and floor exercise. She is the third-most accomplished American gymnast in Olympic history, following Shannon Miller and Simone Biles who have won six Olympic medals.Raisman was also part of the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the world bronze medalist on floor exercise in the year 2011. She is also two-time champion of the national championships in floor exercises (2012 and 2015) and was the reigning champion on the balance beam in the year 2012. She is also five times a medalist at the national all-around championships (silver, bronze, 2010 2011, 2012, and 2012 and). Inducted into The International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in the year 2013.
