AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her debut at the club and helped the team win its league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
